Clear Lake State Park

Clear Lake State Park is located at the base of fabled Mt. Konocti on the shores of California's largest natural lake. Much of the terrain around the 4200 foot Mt. Konocti was formed by lava flows and folding of the earth's crust. We have a rich history; evidence of human habitation dates back at least ten thousand years. More than 120,000 visitors each year enjoy picnicking, boating, camping, nature walks and oneness with nature in the five hundred sixty-five acres donated to the State by Fred and Nellie Dorn in 1948. Still geologically active hot springs bubble to Clear Lake's surface and at the natural sulfur baths on the small boat accessible island in Soda Bay. Several miles of nature trails will lead you through our waterfowl refuge areas, into the past and American Indian Culture, and take you into the wildlife environment of many plants, animals, birds and insects that create an alive, well, and thriving park.
